From Press Release
ML8 Events is pleased to announce their 2nd Future Phenoms College Combine this July 25th and 26th in Newport, Rhode Island. The first combine saw a tremendous turnout last year with 200 participants and over 20 top Head and Assistant DI, DII, and DIII College Coaches. By design, the better than 10:1 player to Coach ratio allows for intimate skill instruction. This year’s event will host 8 head coaches and 12 assistant coaches from top tier Colleges.
The Combine will begin each morning separated by position with Coaches working directly with players on individual skills and techniques. The overall skill development will progress from individual stickwork, to then applying learned techniques, to finally playing as a team in a scrimmage format.
“We were thrilled with last year’s success and are encouraged to move into this Summer’s Combine with our new line up of College Coaches,” said Jessica Pacitto, ML8 Events coordinator.
Parents also gain much from the Combine; they are invited to attend College sessions lead by the Salisbury School’s Assistant Headmaster and Head of College Advisement Bobby Wynne who covers topics such as NCAA requirements and how a player’s SAT/ACT determines their college eligibility. Additional question and answer periods will cover the recruiting process and determining the right fit college for their son will be discussed. Parents will also participate with Head Coaches from Johns Hopkins, Penn State, Ohio State, Loyola, Michigan, University of Vermont, LeMoyne and RIT amongst others about what a day in the life is like for a Division I, II and III athlete and as Coaches what they look for in players. This past December’s Future Phenoms received tremendous feedback from parents who have the opportunity to ask questions directly to the Coaches leaving them well informed on what to expect for their son’s recruiting future.
“This was an AMAZING event. The skill work was top notch, but more importantly the Coaches were fully engaged and so down to earth; it was wonderful for the boys,” said Sandy Paulson whose son Ryan was in attendance at last year’s event.
This summer’s event will host 50 players in the 2019 graduation class, 100 players in the 2020 graduation class and 50 players in the 2021 graduation class. Visit the Future Phenoms College Combine website for more details: https://www.ml8events.com/future-phenoms.
